Two years ago today, Sam and April were given the gift of Kaylie. Well, as I remember it, she didn't have a proper name for days and days...was it over a WEEK!??! :) Finally though, they came up with the beautiful name of KAYLIE SAMANTHA, and it fit her perfectly. Kaylie was born with ULS (Ultimate Love Syndrome), also known to the general populace as Downs Syndrome. Little did we know how much this child would change our lives. She opened our eyes and hearts to a whole new level of love, warmth, delight, and happiness. Without warning, God took her to heaven at 13 months of age. You can read a lot of the story here.
Kaylie had a lot of cute little habits. One was putting her fingers into Sam's mouth...and because of that little gesture, we here at Little Women's Sweet Shoppe make Kaylie-O's!
These are dark- and milk-chocolate-covered Oreos with a little swirl handprint on top. We sent some to Sam and April earlier this week. April told me today that they arrived last night, and they're all gone already! They LOVE Kaylie-O's!!!
For $20.00 plus postage, we can make up a dozen of these, and package them as shown above, in our beautiful large pink/brown scroll box, tied up with a pink/brown satin ribbon, and send them to anyone (including Sam & April). People are always so blessed and overjoyed by these; it's like receiving a surprise love letter. Super-charged encouragement! We often include some pictures of Kaylie with the package, and of course, any personal note the giver wishes to add. Kaylie-O's never fail to bring a smile......like Kaylie herself. Very comforting to anyone who has recently lost a loved one, and anyone who has EVER lost a child. And they're just plain fun to receive, not to mention how delicious they are! Somehow, they convey love as Kaylie did. They're the perfect gift!!!
