Church Bus Accident

Hanna and Allison called their cousin, Kara (Nymeyer), today to tell her Happy 6th Birthday!

Lo and behold, they were just getting home....from the hospital!  Tracy told me that the bus they were riding to church on Sunday morning had hit a slick spot, and started sliding.  It was saved from rolling completely over by hitting a ditch.  Tracy had all the children with her, except little Courtney.  Everyone has bumps and bruises, she said, but Kara had a concussion, and Tracy has a broken rib and broken collar bone.   That HAS to be so painful, but more so being pregnant.  Baby seems to be ok.  She and Kara stayed overnight at the hospital.  They're all actually fortunate to be alive, as the bus COULD have rolled all the way over!  She was explaining to me where each person was sitting, and then where they were thrown; it was pretty wild and rough!  For example, Tracy was sitting on the second row, and ended up on her back in the center of the bus - looking at the emergency door.  Andrea was sitting more towards the middle of the bus, and hit the back door.  One of the girls hit the ceiling.  Bradley and another little boy were between two seats, so were sheltered and unhurt.  God ultimately spared all of them.  She's so grateful that she DIDN't have Courtney along, because she felt Courtney wouldn't have made it.  God is so good.  I was listening to her tell the story, and thanking God at the same time that we still have all of them!  I was enjoying my children even more after hearing her story.  Life is so fragile! 

Tracy's collar bone isn't a clean break, it's fragmented.  She said the drs told her that normally they would do surgery and use pins, etc....but under the circumstances (pregnancy) they didn't consider the risks worth taking right now.  They said it will heal by the time she delivers...and they'll look at it again after that.  Something's wrong with the shoulder itself too.  I am just imagining what the pain must be like....any lifting, any typing, any bending, even sitting upright is hurtful!  Poor thing.  Thankfully, she has wonderful friends around her....Karen, Kim (our sister) and Elaine.  They're bringing meals for the next week.  Tracy said she can't thank them enough, as you can imagine!  

Anyway, please pray for Tracy, and all of them.  She asked me to post this, as she can't type right now, and she'd like as many people praying as might.
