2 new blogs I found

The weather is heating up around here very quickly, so we're already having second thoughts about firing up the oven for supper!  So enters the trusty CROCKPOT and stove-top meals!   Through a series of blog-hopping episodes over one afternoon, I found 2 very interesting sites from which I've gathered several recipes.  Here they are in case you're interested.
The first one is A Year Of Crockpotting.  (She set out to use her crockpot every single day of 2008.)  Lots of recipes.  I should never run out of ideas all summer long!  Another wonderful thing about her recipes is that she tries to add healthy vegetables whenever she can, and tries to use organic or natural as much as possible, leaving out junk foods, and substituting homemade mixes rather than store-bought ones filled w/ additives and preservatives and colorings.  I get the idea she lives near a Trader Joe's, which I don't, but the way she LEANS toward "healthy" is helpful.   She even has a recipe for Perfect Gluten Free Bread Baked in the CrockPot.  (Her daughter has celiac, so the whole family eats that way.)  If you want a good laugh, read her "frequently asked questions".  She's been on the Raechel Ray show!   Have you ever tried lasagna in the crockpot?  My sister-in-law Beverly did, and it worked perfectly!  I'm going to try it soon!  :)

The second site came from my quest to understand how so many people shop at CVS and actually come away w/ a load of goods and still the same amount of money sometimes as when they went in?!?!?!??!  My questions were finally answered at this site, Moneywise Moms, but more interestingly to me, she has some very good EASY AND FAST recipes that I'm trying!  She has twin toddlers, so has learned to cook easy meals.  This is a good lesson to me, as I do spend way too much time in the kitchen.  Another reason to learn to use my crockpot(s) more.
Anyway, you may find these blogs helpful too!

Happy Spring!!

  2. Hello Rachel,
There is a blog biblical womanhood & she makes weekly "deals" for CVS & posts them on her site I think its called money saving mom. I want to try it just as soon as I am juggling a few less responsibilities. (I am acting a general contractor for our house remodel this year.) It doesn't look too difficult ~just time consuming.
Thanks for the crockpot tip. You saved me some hours on another item on my list. I too have a Trader Joe's. I love to shop there.
Hope you are all feeling better.
