It's somewhat of an Advent calendar, but it's magnetic and on the back of each number is written a special activity that your family will do for each of the days before Christmas.
Much better than a paper chain!
No matter what, it will put an end to the regular question of how many days til Christmas.....and will put more of a focus on doing things together during this season. The original post which I've linked to above gives some great ideas for activities as a family.
