Little Shoppers and a Picnic

Saturday we took a drive into Denton County. Lots of large beautiful horse farms there. Quite spiffy, to say the least! I took some pictures, but they didn't really turn out well. We stopped to have our lunch at a park. Had a nice playground. It was super hot, so the watermelon was the favorite of all the foods we'd brought.
Well, second to the donut holes! :)

Within 5 minutes of here is Central Market...and about 7-8 minutes away is Sprouts. Both of these are natural foods markets similar to Whole Foods. (I've never lived within an hour of any such store, so this is ultra-fabulous to me!) It's fun to shop there even if you only buy a few things. Last time I talked to Mother on the phone, she mentioned the bulk bins at those stores, and honestly I hadn't paid much attention to them up to that point. However, the next time I went to Central Market, I had several of the children along, and we checked out the bulk foods section. I was interested in the grains and trail mixes and the local honey.....

But the girls had brought their pocket change and headed straight for the candy, specifically the chocolate-covered-malted-milk-balls and the salt water taffy.

I'm not 7 years old, and I still think it's great fun to weigh your packaged goods and print out your own little label on the machine.

Chase only had enough money to buy one piece but that was fine w/ him! :)

This was at Sprouts, a smaller establishment, but I think I like it even more
than Central Market!

Hanna went around checking for any little stray pieces of raisins, nuts, or candy that might have fallen between the bins when people were scooping out their goods! :)

The littlest shopper. :)
