Frozen Mocha(s)

Do you know how strange it is to be awake at 2am for the first time in your entire life simply because you drank way too much caffeine?

Johnny took me out yesterday...and we had an utterly fabulous time. We talked and talked and talked (uninterrupted by little voices)!!!! He bought me all sorts of stuff, clothes mostly.... :)  Yes, I shop, he talks w/ anyone/everyone in the store, I laugh at their conversations, and he waits patiently as I try and retry clothes on. Then we laugh for the rest of the day about all the funny stuff he did or found out or saw while he waited. He has the patience of Job, for sure! Thankfully he has the internet on his phone now too, so he can read interesting stuff and/or send tweets to all his Maverick Dad fans...as he waits. :) He's so great!
First thing we did actually was to pick up the first set of his Maverick Dad shirts.....
Then we ate at Panera Bread, and because it was so hot, I got the same drink as he did. Frozen Mocha.
I got a Regular. He got a Large. Problem is that he REGULARLY drinks a large frozen mocha, and I do not. I usually get ice water, and take a few sips of his mocha when he's not looking. This time, the sun was blazing hot (95 degrees!), and I downed that mocha in a matter of minutes....and even helped him with HIS! He threatened to get up and buy me another just to save his own! Nah, nah, let's wait til on the way home. Yah, good idea. So, we did our shopping, as I mentioned above.....and then swung back by Panera to get some treats for our babysitter....and another Large Mocha to split on the way home. It was gone before we were 1/2 way home. They make the absolute BEST there, I promise.
Got home, played with the children, everyone got baths, and headed to bed.
Johnny was working on the computer, I was doing laundry, and cleaning up the kitchen, etc....when I finally decided to turn in at about midnight. At 1:00 I was still wide-awake. This NEVER (I repeat, NEVER) happens to me. I always fall fast asleep right away. Sleep does not elude me, I assure you! So, here I am thinking, "hmmm, is this what pregnancy insomnia is all about?" I figured maybe the Lord wanted me to talk to him, so I told him all my cares, thanked Him for a wonderful day, a wonderful husband, wonderful parents, wonderful children, and a wonderful life. Still wide awake. Ok, then I prayed for anyone and everyone that came to mind....friends, family, distant friends, distant family, newly-reacquainted schoolmates, people who don't even know me, but have major problems in their lives, etc. Yes, if you're reading this, God probably heard your name last night......and still no sleep, so, I got back up....did MORE laundry, and graded some schoolwork!
It was THEN that I realized that maybe, just maybe, my body isn't quite used to that much caffeine....and maybe just maybe I ought to have a little more constraint next time I'm anywhere around a Panera Bread. Finally got tired somewhere between 2 and 3am. Don't laugh. (I can see my mother shaking her head and chuckling right now! She's the only one allowed to do that.)

Hope you all are well! How is everything going there? Expecting again? What a blessing!

  3. LOL! Wow. I am an avid coffee drinker and can usually have a cup or two and go straight to sleep. There was one time though that Marco and I were on a date and we were in Newport Beach. I had an espresso and a quaint little coffee/book store. It was super strong and I loved it. At about 2 a.m., I decided that I would not do that again - at least that late in the day! Glad you had a good time though!
