Pizza and Math

This week I came across some very good internet sites.....

The first shows how to make personal pan pizzas for $.38 each! We often make pizza at home, and I think we'll try this method sometime soon!

The second has to do with home schooling.....
Sometimes it helps to have someone with a different teaching style or a different perspective explain math concepts. When reducing improper fractions was threatening family peace, I looked online and found TheFreeMathTutor. This man has free video clips of himself teaching all the math concepts from elementary up through high school! He explains everything clearly and methodically using a white board. The nice thing is that when the child "sort of" understands but needs it explained again....it's only a matter of clicking the replay button, as opposed to me trying yet one more way of explaining it. For some concepts, you can print the Example sheet, the Exercise Sheet, and the Answer Sheet. LOVE THIS SITE!!! My math-challenged child enjoys it too! :)
