Fresh Snow, Painting, and a Brand New Haircut

Allison

We had snow for ONE day.....and the kids were so, so, so happy.

They would love to have DRIFTS of it.

Emelie and Jessica

Chase (all cleaned up!)

Marissa

Marissa made pancakes for us one morning......

and they were fabulous!!!

Emelie

Our ugliest dog dressed up to resemble something of beauty......I guess!

Bethany Boothe gave the girls some mismatched black high-heels....which happen to hold the highest value in the dress-up basket. Here we have a little 16-month old trudging along in them just perfectly!!! Too funny!

Savannah Kate

Allison and Jessica at craft time! Painting is one of the favorites.

Chase's was pretty one-dimensional and strictly one hue of the Color Wheel! :)

....and Jessica is amazingly proficient! She paid very close attention to staying within the lines!

Notice the interesting hair cut? Well, it's pretty hard to even out something like....this....which takes place "because my hair was in my eyes!"

This is the same child who does interesting things on a regular basis.....such as.....well, this week it was squirting a neat line of gel toothpaste across the threshold of her sister's room just before bedtime ("because it would be so funny to have them slip on it!").....and last week it was writing her name in VERY large letters on the beige carpet of her room in green marker.....and the week before that it was using up practically every vegetable in my refrigerator to make some sort of stir-fried-something, which smelled very good and super garlicky....but then she added so much salt it was inedible! ....and today it was cracking a raw egg under her bed and never mentioning it til someone else found it/smelled it.....and reported it. The explanation for that one was that she had planned to toss it out the 2-story window, "because it would be funny to see it splatter on the ground", but then decided against it and just did the job w/in the 4 walls of her room! NICE! I can never predict what the next possible trick will be. The crazy stuff had really slowed down considerably for the last couple years...so I think I let me guard down, but in the last 2 months, it has ramped up to an almost-daily episode! She has a deep love for practical jokes. Yesterday she told me that it would "just hilarious" to have a banana ready for when someone yawned, so one could stick it into the person's open mouth "to surprise them!" Huh???
See the tendency here? Both Johnny and I have instructed our other children that they are NEVER to place us in Hanna's care when we are old and unable to tend to ourselves.
Could be fatal. :)
Yet, in spite of all the craziness, she has brought all sorts of sunshine to our home.
She was hand-picked for us, and we are blessed!
