Some Chinese friends of ours are on vacation for a month. They have offered us the use of their pool while they are away….so we are taking advantage of it as often as possible. (i.e. every day)
A friend (and employee) of theirs is staying at their home til Thursday. Then he will return to his home in China. He has been here on business for a month or so. Tonight as we were leaving, he came out and said he wanted to give us “something for you and your children…” In the bag were 4 Cokes and 2 Budweisers. The girls got such a hearty laugh over the idea of me chugging a beer! Johnny graciously declined, but it was a kind gesture, I’m sure, on the part of the Chinese businessman.

Yes, well now we're going to wonder where those other two cans are if there are only Cokes in the picture! :-)

Actually, it reminded me of the time that a fellow newspaper deliverer gave Rich a bottle of wine, when we lived out in California and delivered papers in the early morning hours. Of course, we pitched it but the person probably sacrificed in order to give it to us.
