Heather and I tried to re-create what the professional photographer had done with the boys and Abby. This is the best shot we got in the 30 seconds before the baby decided she was done. And you can see in the following photo......she wasn't happy at all after that!!!
She's walking now, and we just love to see her toddle around.
She started walking at 10.5 months!
We met some friends who were traveling through from Alabama.....
Dairy Queen is always a great place for that sort of thing.
Hanna thought it was a good time to have me blow up her super-large balloon, so........

and this is the same Allison, all dolled up for one of Emelie's photo shoots!

High school football is REALLY BIG here in Southlake, and Johnny's spent a little bit of time playing and practicing with some of the younger players on certain weeknights....so he's in the thick of it. A week ago, the Varsity had a scrimmage game with the 2 JV teams.....so we went to watch. There was quite a crowd at this game on a VERY hot Saturday morning! It was serious! They had real refs, lots and LOTS of parents along the sidelines, and the mood was very much "down to business". Emelie was told not to take any more photos when she was noticed by a security guard. I guess they don't want to risk any opposing team knowing their plays.
Emelie and Marissa made some cute tote bags. Turned out to be fabulous projects for them. Finished them in 2 afternoons. All straight lines of sewing. They're very cute. The kits are sold at WalMart. (Emelie gave hers to me for my birthday! So, I use it as my new diaper bag!)

By the way, I felt very loved by all my siblings and parents and children and friends on my birthday. Thank you for all the notes and phone calls and e-mails and text messages and gifts. It was a great day, complete with an ice cream cake from Milwaukee Joe's (compliments of Johnny)!!!
Our church had a Picnic

...........and Baptism at Lake Grapevine a week ago. Three of our girls were baptized.
First was Allison.
Then Hanna.......

and then Jessica.....but you can see she was already underwater in the picture above. She said later that swimming around a bit helped her not be so nervous! Too funny!

Chase went swimming in the lake afterwards......thus the bare-chested pose.

Heather made these cute little dresses for the girls out of remnants she had leftover from dresses she'd made for her nieces on Clay's side! Marissa and Jessica were so delighted. I'm starting to get motivated to sew again myself. :)

I loved this entire post so much.
ReplyDeleteOk, I cried a little too!
Really precious pictures, etc...
Loved the pictures! love those cute bags from Wal-mart too -- going to have to check on those for the middle girls to work on; and YOU look GREAT! Pretty necklace in the one picture. Thanks for posting so many pictures. Your family is lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou know what's funny about taking pictures of the football players as they scrimmage? To me it looks like a whole bunch of chunky-reared boys pushing in a straight line, but evidently there is some sort of "plan" that no one wants to "give away" to the other team. LOL Must be a girl thing. LOL
ReplyDeleteThe baptism always makes me cry. It is so precious to see children and adults take that step, and doing it the way our church does (in the lake) is just extra special and meaningful. It really was a wonderful day.
