Chase is 2!!!

I had the great idea of doing an early-morning shopping run to WalMart, and getting back home in time for a "late breakfast".  That was the plan anyway.  Half-way through my trek around the superstore, Johnny called to say a tornado was reported to be coming right through that area, so I should stay in the store til it passed, or at least call him before leaving, so he could let me know the weather conditions.  That's when Emelie started saying, "What's that whistling sound?  Is that the WIND?!?!"  It sure was. Tornado winds sound like a train coming from afar off.   We felt relatively safe in a store as large as WalMart.  Better than out driving!
We finally gathered all our things and headed to the front, and started placing things on the conveyor belt to be scanned, etc.  Suddenly everything stopped.  Cashiers stopped scanning, and everyone was ordered to the back center of the store.  They announced CODE BLACK, and we were all herded to the area around electronics....where we all stood around WAITING.  That early in the morning, WalMart isn't super busy, but there we all stood.  Every employee, every shopper - we all stood and waited and chatted and made calls on our cell phones.....and wondered if the ice cream that was sitting on the conveyor belt at the front of the store was MELTING!??!?!  We only had to wait 10 minutes or so, and then the danger had passed.  I don't think the tornado touched down anywhere near where we were, thankfully.....but it was an interesting experience!

Chase is TWO!  He LOVED the ice cream we had w/ his brownie cake!  :)

He also LOVES the remote control motorcycle and car set that Beverly gave him!

Note:  The photo-documentation of my parents' 50th anniversary party is coming...soon.  I have SO many pictures, I don't know which to post!!!  :)  Couple that with my propensity for detailed stories, and we all might be in for a long post.  I'll try to cut it short though.
