A friend shared this recipe with us, and it is THE BEST cookie for children to help with!!! We had so much fun making it! Even the 6-yr-old neighbor boy came over for the fun!!!
The recipe is simple enough to whip up quickly, and then the kids have the greatest time putting all the "decorations" on! So, here is her post/her recipe.....just copied onto mine. She's a real sweetie....a "shabby-chic" sweetie. If you want to read her blog, go meet
Thought I'd share our favorite CHRISTMAS cookie recipe tonight.
OF COURSE... they had to have M&M's in them!
It's actually the same cookie dough recipe as my Chocolate chip cookies, but in case you didn't nab that when I blogged it before.. here goes! FROM OUR HOUSE TO YOURS...........
M&M COOKIES
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 cups crisco
4 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
dash salt
4 1/2 cups flour
a large bag of plain CHRISTMAS M&M's (I did NOT say "HOLIDAY")
Now, mix everything together really well EXCEPT the m&m's HOLD OFF ON THOSE! I know some people dump those in at the last but don't!
Now make your dough balls and set on your cookie sheet. *NOW* Cover the tops and sides of the balls with your M&M's, and squish in just a little, like......
This! If you dump the m&m's in the dough and mix it all up... you lose all THE PRETTY! YOU WANT THEM TO BE PRETTY RIGHT? IT doesn't take that much longer at all... really*Bake at 350 til VERY light golden just around thee edges. You want them to be slightly chewy. DO NOT BLOG N BAKE... THEY BURN* TRUST ME ON THIS!
see the difference it makes?

Yummy for your tummy!
Oh, so someone else has tried to blog 'n bake
